Hey guys, So I purchased this Omega impulsively back in 2015 and have no idea whether its a redial or no, Ive tried searching for images on Google based on the caliber and year(1952-55) and found somewhat similar dials without 'engravings of the minute track and a different "S" font. Would appreciate it if you experts shed some light on this.
Although the printing seems a bit heavy I would say its original. Here is another one from the same period with the same minute track.
Very interesting! thanks so much guys. I wish these Vintage Omegas would be as easy to spot-check as vintage Rolex models.
I'm guessing that the print has been damaged over time by moisture etc, making the ink slightly blurry.
This S font is original? I have a lot to learn as I studied it and thought it to be a vintage redial before I scrolled down for the expert's call. I started my own thread last night asking about the S fonts and tricks of the trade, but aside from having 2 people say the coat hanger S was gone after '62 there wasn't much info given. This S, to my NOOB eye doesn't look like a "correct" coat hanger script. Can more enlightenment be given.......please? McK
Thanks so much guys for the insights. I was actually debating on selling it if it was a redial, now I might just take in it for a much needed service. Any leads on where might be a good place? I'm located in Chicago
