Put an an uncle 1171 on my planet ocean with an eBay clasp. Made me fall in love with my PO all over again after having it ten years. I hate the oem bracelet as it’s heavy and too wide at the clasp at 18mm. I’m realizing I need 20/16 bracelets and straps.

I recently received an all-brushed US1479.

In my opinion this is the best option for the Speedy Professional case. Very well made and a very accurate reproduction of the original 1479.

Here on my Apollo XV and with a 1162/173 clasp I bought some time ago.

I see mention of the Canada omega clasps but can't seem to find them on eBay. Are these the same ones as the vintage omega clasp on Etsy? I presume so long as the inside width is also 16mm it will fit the Uncle Seiko 1035 bracelet?

More ideas : president style bracelet (check out the 1450...fantastic on a Speedy, better looking than 1171 imho).

Looking forward to seeing what you make 👍[/QUOTE]

this is the only one that comes close to the original ones imho! looks nice!

Had been wearing the US 1035 on my Broad Arrow Replica but yesterday, put it on my SM300. It's a good look.

I think I'll use the 1171/1 or 1479 with the Broad Arrow and my 1039 on my 145.022.

I'm curious to know whether anybody has managed to squeeze a 19mm variant (flat link or Holzer) onto a Polerouter yet?

I appear to have answered my own question.

I am looking for a bracelet for my speedy Ultraman.
Would love to hear some suggestions.
I am not sure if I choose a flatlink or the 1171 or maybe another alternative?

Pictures appreciated

When fitting these bracelets onto non-standard models, has anyone ever had an issue with the bracelet links damaging the side of the case lug? Specifically when the endlink is set too far into the case such that the bracelet is prone to rub against it?

I imagine this happened to many of the true vintage pieces. I often see chewed up lugs on this part of the watch, especially on the old Omega straight lug cases.

You are ascribing the wrong cause to your effect. You smacked your watch into things, has nothing to do with the bracelet, other than perhaps this bracelet was recessed enough to not get damaged instead of your watch.

It’s possible it will mark the lugs up if it clicks on the corners. If you feel like “marrying” the bracelet to the watch, some time with a file could take care of that.

From the photos you can see that there's just enough clearance that the bracelet gets full articulation with no issues. I think I wore mine particularly loosely one day and there was enough play to give it a couple of dings on the red circles I have highlighted.

I am using a flat link Uncle Seiko bracelet for my Ultraman and to be honest I liked it very much in the begining as it gave imy Ultraman this whole new look and feel (previously only on nato). Sorry, no pictures but you can find great examples here in this thread.

Right now however, this bracelet is disappointing me. The issue for me is that it seems pretty light in comparison to the watch. It adds a feeling that the watch is loosely attached to your wrist and for me it makes me wonder if it is going to last and survive. In a nutshell I feel that this bracelet lacks substance and is not going to be strong enough. Therefore I am looking for alternatives. I think that the new original bracelet that goes with 3861 may be an option, but I havent seen and pics. Anyone can help here with images?

I suggest that the issue is with you and not the bracelet. The bracelets supplied by Omega were just as lightweight and not really made as well as the later ones or even your Uncle Seiko.

But, you might try the Forstner. It is a bit heavier, though not a lot. You can even buy the milled clasp now. I would still be using the Forstner with my WatchCo Seamaster 300 had I not replaced it with the Apollo 11 50th anniversary bracelet, which gives me all Omega and fits slightly better in the endlink area. I also like Forstner's stretchy end links as well.

But you do not need to worry that your Speeedmaster will go flying off your wrist at some inopportune moment.

Yeah, the US1035 seems more substantial than my 1039 and 1171/1 by a small amount and I don't consider either of those necessarily fragile. None of them may be particularly suited for a "heavy" watch head but I have no fear of their imminent failure. In that regard, the US1035 captures the vintage feel exceptionally well.

Hi,

I have a lot of US bracelets, from President to Flatlink and have no problems at all. I have an original Omega 1171 as well and need to say that this is even lighter and makes me feel what you say above...

The US Flatlink it absolute fine for me.

Very cool watch and what a great street to present it on - isn't this the "golden street" in Warsaw?

Maybe it is me, indeed, and maybe I should adjust it tighter - for now it is pretty loose, so it maybe an additonal factor that provokes my thinking
