Need Help with Hallmarks

Hey everyone, hope your day is going well. I recently found my late grandfather’s watch (pictured below), and am trying to learn more. I recently had it serviced and asked the watchmaker to take a picture of the caseback once opened, but he forgot and only took a photo of the watch disassembled. There’s a stamp between the 6 o’clock lugs that just says 14K GOLD. Unfortunately I think the lugs bent slightly and so it’s very hard to remove the strap now, but I tried to get a picture of the stamp as well.

My primary question is- can anyone say if this stamp confirms the watch is solid 14K Gold? Or could it possibly be filled/rolled/plated? If anyone also knows what the reference number or year is as well, that would be enormously helpful. It’s getting worn regardless, just want to know what I’m wearing. Thanks so much!

It's not a hallmark, obviously, but that stamp indicates that the case is solid 14k gold. Gold-filled cases are stamped differently. It will also be indicated inside the case, and I would ask the watchmaker for a photo of that, so you also have a record of the reference number, etc.

Thanks Dan. Unfortunately I did ask him for a picture of the caseback and he forgot, but I’m happy just having this question answered. Thanks again!
