I am new to omega and would like to get one for myself, there are a lot of fake ones in the market and I could not really tell. Can someone kind enough to see if these watches are legit and worth buying it?

Thanks in advance!

Constellation

Seamaster

They both appear to me to be the real thing. As to are they “worth” it, there I can’t help. Add to the purchase price of either, 300, 400, 500 for professional service (for either of them), plus necessary parts, then you’ll have decide if they are ”worth” it. If you have Omega do the service, then double or triple the price! These are the economics of venturing into the collectible watch hobby! The money might be better spent buying new.

I think the Constellation is worth buying at the right price, it's generally in decent condition. I looked very quickly through the photos, and the only real issue I noticed was some replacement parts in the movement.

The Seamaster is no good, the dial is horribly repainted and the movement is a real mess.

I agree with Dan. Don’t bother with the Seamaster. How much is the Constellation and has it been recently serviced?

Sorry all, I missed to include the price. Constellation is selling at $1200 USD whereas Seamaster is at $600. Is the Constellation ref 2652? Thanks all!

I like the constellation but the price isn't probably a bargain, gold capping is ok but I suspect for a little more dollars a nicer one might appear.

A bit of a side note to collecting of vintage watches is that many collectors of these watches are now getting on in years and I suspect that in the mid term many exemplary examples will be coming to market.

Based on recent prices I've seen $1200 isn't crazy, but the condition of the Constellation just doesn't get me overly excited. The case in particular. The dial has a subtle mottled appearance, but it's still appealing, and if it's exactly what you are looking for and you really love it, I don't think you're being ripped off at that price.

Honestly, I think the Seamaster is a terrible watch and you should not buy it at any price. I can't even see it as a parts watch because of the terrible condition of the movement. If you're required to buy both, that would honestly be a dealbreaker for me.

Please take the seller's claims in this regard with a huge grain of salt. Unless they provide you with say an invoice for a recent service that is directly tied to the watch in question (notes the model or serial number) then I would plan for a service in the price you are willing to pay.

Just this week I received a Speedmaster that the seller claimed had been serviced in the last 2 years, but upon inspection I would say it jad not been serviced in 15-20 years - all oils inside were completely dried up.

This Constellation has snap on Caseback. 2652 has screw down caseback. Movement looks like 354 bumper which would go with 2652. Need to see inside Caseback to resolve this discrepancy.
