Hi All,

I ran across this listing from Chrono 24, and really like everything about it. Its tropical dial is amazing and patina is at a decent level (to me).
The only thing that make me hesitate, is its crown. I read from this forum that it is called Naiad crown, and unpopular choice for Omega at that period as it didn't do a good job keeping water away. Please correct me if I am wrong.
So my question is: Is the crown for this watch correct according to the reference (c2577) and time period (1950s) ?

That information is mistaken. The Naiad crown system was developed for enhanced water resistance and Naiad crowns bear a small Mercedes star inside the Omega symbol. Google provides more info.

So this has nothing to do with Naiad crown then,

Yes, you could call it a bowler hat crown. 2577s had clover crowns.

It seems a bit polished, though the pictures are bugging me, maybe they are digitally corrected. See the spring at sticking out of the 5:00 lug?

The correct crown should look like this:

Interestingly enough, that's the crown that came on the earliest 2627 Seamaster Calendar. Might be worth something.
