    Hi guys,
I have been admiring so many beautiful UG Polerouters in the forum, and has been looking for one myself. Here is what I found locally, I have yet to see it in person but was told that it is pink gold, the case look quite sharp to me from the pictures. Please let me know what you guys think of the watch :)

    Cheers

Case may have been polished a bit, especially on the back. Make sure to take that into account when making a offer.

So long as the colors of the dial, hands and case match up (can't tell from the photos), it otherwise looks good to me. Movement and dial look exceptionally clean for an almost 60 year old watch. If the crystal is signed (with a "U" logo, similar to Omega), consider it a bonus.

That watch is in great shape. Almost too good to be true. I have some reservation about the dial. The Swiss at the bottom looks darker than the rest of the writing. Could be the picture! I also wonder about the M in automatic not lining up with the crosshairs.

My opinion is only mine and I'm no expert. I'm sure others will chime in.

That being said, I would jump on it if someone offered it to me. If you like it get it.

This looks pretty good to me too. The crown is correct which is important because you'll find Jimmy Hoffa before you find a pink gold UG crown. I would ask for better pictures of the back. If you can still read the reference number then you can assess the polish time this watch has seen. Still, that dial and the movement are tremendous. I would guess the offering price is between $2,000 to $2,500. PG and a De Luxe will push this up above others. A lot depends on if this is a dealer or private seller.

I would not pay $2,000+ for this model unless you could shave with the lugs. :D

Gold value is relatively depressed right now. I'd say it should run $1,400 to $1,600, but remember to leave yourself a $200 margin for service. A clean movement doesn't necessarily mean a properly serviced one.

I agree with gatorcpa more than Selbo here, but even lower. $900-$1500.

The dial is alarmingly white for being 60 years old. I'd have to scrutinize it further before pursuing.

Just to clarify, I thought the OP was trying to guess the list price. I think it will be listed in the $2k range but I agree that a fair price to pay is $1,200 to $1,600. I also agree that more pictures are needed. The gold dials tend to hold up well but the white, silver, and black usually have some form of patina. This dial looks really smooth. A few more pictures would provide a little more confidence.

Generally, the dials on the De Luxe models were gold. I have a 18K Polerouter Jet with what looks to be a gold dial. I have been told by the factory that it is not gold except for the markers.

I've not seen a painted version like that before, but the logos and fonts all look correct to me.

Only way to know for sure is to have the watchmaker photograph the underside of the dial when it is taken apart.

    Hope this helps,
