Hi all. This watch was my grandfather's. We recently found it in a drawer of a dresser. I took the watch to a watch repair shop and was told that the watch is in good working condition. They said there was some mild corrosion inside described as the mild discoloration. There are also a few scratches on face. Other than that, all is fine. Movement 12189055, Case back inside 2596-1, Model 353.
I could not find this exact watch in my searches and was wondering which it is and what is the approximate value. We don't plan on selling it but just curious.
    Thank you!

The case does appear to be a 2596 (photos of the inside of the case back would confirm. I'm wondering about the movement, though. The OVD (not always correct) has it listed as having a cal. 342.

Unfortunately, some well-meaning watchmaker swapped out one of the bridges (the one with the model, or caliber number). That was probably done years ago. These parts were likely interchangeable and should not affect the function of the watch.

Here is the information from Omega on Ref. 2596. What's interesting is that this model has a solid (probably 14K) bezel.

The incorrect part renders the watch almost noncollectable. Since this is a family piece, it is part of the history of the piece and should be left alone.

    Nice looking Omega.
