Ok so I have this watch from my mom who has it from her dad.

All I know about it is that it's genuine, it's a mechanical watch, and that it's more than 50 years old, so it might be from the '50s / '60s / '70s...

Here's some pictures... In the first and second the strap is a new one... In the 3rd and 4th is the original strap. The only specific thing of the strap is the omega symbol on the buckle.

This is all I got so please does anybody know the model name ? Also if possible could u tell me how much it's worth regarding the fact it's pretty damn worn and the glass is scratched af... ?

There is no model name. It's an Omega dress watch. We can give you more info if you can provide clear, preferably hi res, photo of the inside of the case back and the movement (including all the numbers).

Ok so the movement is mechanical it looks like... The watch can be powered by the crown (like any mechanical watch) but I notice that also if I shake it a little it starts working as well...

Sadly I can't open it because I need a special tool and I don't have it so... I would need to go to a specialist or something and that would cost me money and I'm pretty broke right now... I also don't wanna improvise the tool as I don't wanna break the watch lol.

Someone here will be along and will be able to tell you, with some degree of certainty, what you have. The only way to know for sure is to have a watchmaker open it for photos.

It's a manual, probably 1960s and possibly a 280s or 600s series movement though that's just a guess. Shaking it is not winding it but only teasing the last dribs out of the mainspring - if it were automatic, it would say so on the dial. The scratches on the crystal don't matter as they can be polished out or a new crystal installed. The dial looks original, and it and the case look in quite good shape. It's worth maybe around $300, again at a guess, as although it's seemingly in good order, it is not a rare or collectable model. Do not throw away the strap as if an original Omega it has a value even in that condition, and if the buckle is original, that too is quite collectable.

If this were my Grandad's watch, I'd have it serviced (NOT by Omega), take off the old strap and keep it, put the buckle on a new strap and wear it proudly. It is a decent watch and a nice thing to have in the family. If you like it, don't wear it till you can afford to get it serviced. But if you are not sentimental about it and the cash is more important, sell it as it is. But while you can always get money eventually, you can never get another Grandad watch.

I was curious about this and after a bit of searching, I think what you probably have is a reference 131.019 with a calibre 601 movement. Google it for further info. I'm seeing prices between $230 and $450 at first glance. The detailed research is now up to you!
