This watch was left to me and (reportedly!) was bought in Switzerland just after WW2. Can anyone help me with identifyingthe model? It's been serviced once and brought back to life but has subsequently stopped agin so I'll need to get it serviced again.

    Any help very gratefiully received.

Wow. Impressively quick answer! Thanks very much for your help - and great to know the family story is true. Now I need to get it serviced... Will look for a recommended UK specialist who can help bring it back to life.

It is a poorly done redial. Will need more photos including the movement and inner caseback to say anything more than that.

"Genuine clean condition" might be a bit of a stretch, to say the least... The redial is horrendous (look at the subdial and poorly done relume).

Is odd that it's a redial as it's badly in need of a clean - unless the redial was done many years ago. I've had it for roughly 15 years and it's not happened in that time. Is the back easy to remove to get a pic of the movement?

Redial, no doubt on this. Not a good one moreover.

its dirty I agree but enlarging it just shows the dirt inside the dial. But I stand corrected.

Have just found the insurance documents from 1999, apparently it's a 17 jewelled 'bumper' movement no 10269298 case no 2398-2

Thanks for the link, it's great you're all so helpful here.

Is also odd the redial is so inaccurate as it was sent back to Omega (according to my insurance notes) for the re-furb. At least they sent the original crown back so I do have that in case it can be added back to the watch.

Speak to STS in Essex. They have a lot of original parts and may be able to help with an original dial. Worth a 'phone call.
