Hi Omega pals. I recently found this watch in a drawer at home where it sat for probably 30+ years. As I was looking at it, it began running like it hasn't missed a beat. I would like to know a little more about the watch from you experts (I.e. Approx. Year/era, valuation with the original bracelet). Your help is much appreciated!

Gold, or plated, or filled, 1960s SMDV. With the solid gold bracelet I was guessing a gold watch, but then I saw the damage to the lug and I'm wanting to see better photos. Unless there is no damage at all and it's just bad lighting.

Unfortunately the movement is removed through the front of the case, so you will need to have someone with real expertise remove it to get comprehensive information about it. Some members will certainly provide very educated cases.

 

Yes, what @Dan S said. My guess is that it is a sold gold watch as it wouldn't make much sense to put gold bracelet on a plated watch. The condition is quite nice. If you want to wear it, it is best to have the movement serviced by a qualified watchmaker. Be sure to give strict instructions not to polish the case, because doing so would remove the original features of the watch and harm the value.

Definitely solid gold (the double bevelled caseback isn’t seen on filled or plated models).

Lovely find and will clean up wonderfully with a service (Just don’t have the case polished)

We can see the hallmarks on the back of the lugs on some pictures. This is a solid 18k gold watch with a solid 18k gold bracelet and it's definitely worth something!

What's a fair value for this watch? I was offered $2000 CDN. Prices seem to be all over the place on chrono24 for solid gold examples.

That is a snazzy swingin 60's Deville and if I were you I'd keep it as that 18k solid gold version with awesome bracelet is only going to get more scarce as time goes by. Unless of course you want to sell it to me for $2001
