I vote for the green Seamaster for a do anything watch. The summer blue looks really nice but may be a bit too flashy.

I debated the green seamaster vs summer blue...ended up getting the green and later added traditional blue, I just didn't think I would like the summer blue long term.

I will say this for the green, the strap/bracelet you wear makes all the difference to me. If I put the green strap on it, the dial appears to me to lighten significantly, if its on the bracelet it appears much darker.....and I imagine if I put it on a black bracelet it would be even darker but haven't tried that yet. Love my seaweed!

Absolutely the green Seamaster. As others have said, I am not sure any of them specifically would work for a daily wear watch - personally I would look at a standard Speedy

I’ve got the green SMP300. It’s a great watch. I have it on the original bracelet (for flashy occasions and) but 99% of the time it’s on a the rubber strap with deployant clasp. It’s really versatile and I think it works with everything.

The summer blue range looks nice too but I have concerns that it may not age well with my tastes.

I wear my green as an everyday when not wearing my blue or black.

I’ve been considering getting a black zealande strap for my green SMP. Just waiting to see how it looks on someone else’s wrist first before I take the plunge!

Have to go against the grain here and vote for the summer blue- but I do think the SMP summer blue can be a touch flashy at times.

There are two kinds of everday watch: the kind that everyone approves of and recommends, and the kind that fits you. Sometimes the latter happens to be the former- but sometimes it doesn't. Ultimately you're going to have to listen to yourself on what watch fits you on a daily basis the best, because almost no one else you run into on a daily basis is really going to care.

Also to add- Having two watches to pass down to your sons is a fantastic idea. I'm running the same idea here and also have two sons, and my general thoughts are that if my sons get into watches, they'll likely have some of their own. "Dad's" watch should have a much stronger sentimental value than real value, in that case. And if they don't get into watches at all, whatever you pass them down is likely to be sold. Any Omega is likely still going to be worth something in a couple of decades.

My last thoughts on this subject is that it's ok to have more than one daily watch. Especially if you plan to hand down watches to two sons, you might almost want more than one daily watch, so that the association is close to equal. Otherwise, whichever watch you wear more often... is likely to have much greater amounts of sentimental value.

Would you say that too if the seconds hand was red (pic from a local forum):

I've thought about that but I think it was very shrewd of Omega to omit it.The red-tipped second hand would've been a nod to every modern SMP, but not having one makes it different and its own thing. This is fitting since green is a new color never offered before. Without the red "Seamaster" text on the dial, which would be almost entirely lost on the dark green dial, it doesn't look proper and seems like an affect. It would be (is) not the same watch with red accents. I don't think having them would make it more or less flashy, but would definitely not make for a better looking watch..

Agreed, surely QC wasn't paying attention when the watch in my post passed through their hands.

Agreed. no red. The red would
A) clash because the green is too dark to be Christmas colors;
B) immediately remind the wearer of a Vietnam-era aeromed evac Huey;
C) Overcomplicate what is an elegant dial;
D) All of the above

I'd be interested to see a full red mockup, though, for the sake of curiosity. The seconds hand is definitely as far as I would go in.production and I can't say its presence would've made me buy a different watch.

Omega showed restraint in not adding red. It would really change the watch.

Agree with above comments I've been using the seamaster green for practically everything. I think it looks more formal without the contrasting red but it's still a dive watch so can be dressed down.

The summer blue is probably my favorite SMP, but a bit too fun and flashy as an everyday watch for my life. If I lived somewhere like Miami, I would do it for sure!

That's great advice, and also the summer blue looks awesome. Now that I'm looking at it again, I'd have trouble choosing the green over that one. It may be a bit flashier, but it also feels a little more special.

The obvious answer is to just get several watches. It's the only sane thing to do.

The green Seamaster is my only modern omega. Love it. Bought it on the strap, I’m not a fan of the bracelet, too heavy, no taper.

I think ir serves great the daily watch mission, i could use it on rubber strap 90% of the time without looking out of place. Wanna go more formal or change of look: black, green, brown leather strap go very well too.

Yes I will be getting another watch, I'm sure. In a couple of years time I should think. Don't want to rush it. Two daily watches would make the most sense.

The green seamaster is looking great. I will go into the boutique again in a week or so and compare the summer blue with the green.

the green sm300 would be my "one and done, everyday watch" out of those 3. Second place would be that railmaster, amazing dial. The flashy blue one, not for me, but maybe you like it, so who am I to judge. 😀
