Hello guys, i need help about a dial for a 551 omega cal. I bought some time ago an omega 551 cal with case but no dial. I found a dial, omega pie pan dial, but it is 31.5mm, my question is can you fit this diameter on a 551 cal.?

Sorry for my bad english.

Whilst different movements can have different dial feet positions, different case references also have different dial diameters.
What is the case you have?

My case has 2 numbers
1. 165.070
2. 167.070

they appear to be Seamaster references, so if you have a Constellation pie pan dial it may not fit.

Buy a pair of vernier callipers and measure the internal dimension of the bezel then add 2mm That would give you a good estimate of dial size

As I mentioned earlier, whilst the dial feet must match the movement, the case is very important.

Your case style seems to take a flat dial but the 551 movt is a chronometer grade more usually seen in a Constellation.
One of our resident watchmakers might be able to tell you if the dial feet on the chronometer movts are the same as contemporary non-chron sister movts. ( sense would say they are )

They also might be able to tell you what size a 167.070 dial is.

ideally you are looking for the less common ‘officially certified’ Seamaster dial for your reference.
