    Hi OF,

As you know I am based in Jakarta, and a friend has helped me secure a watch in Germany. I was wondering what would be the ideal way to ship to Hong Kong to another friend with insurance?

Would it be FedEx, DHL, or local post? Is it possible to use Parcel Pro accounts from the US?

    Thanks and look forward.

    Kent

Parcel Pro accounts can be used worldwide. I am based in Portugal, and use mine to and from the Far East and elsewhere.

    Tony,

That's interesting, since I do not own an account, would be great if anyone can help me to use Parcel Pro using their account.

Just FYI FedEx does not insure jewelry (includes watches) past $1,000 I think. So combining it with ParcelPro is the way to go! Just follow their boxing instructions closely.

    EDIT:

ParcelPro updated recently, so the process is now:

    - Log into ParcelPro
    - Create FedEx shipping label
    - In that form, just declare the value to what you want - e.g. $10,000
    - Then create label and box as needed and drop off at FedEx

ParcelPro will insure to your full value, FedEx just sees the min amount ($0) and is none the wiser.

There are also couriers that manage insured shipments. If it’s too much trouble to use PP.. then one of these is best.

They subcontract Fedex, at least from my experience. I bought a watch from C24 two months ago from an Italian dealer. He shipped via Ferrari and paid 250€ for the insured shipping (he said). Result : I found a package on the ground at my door left by fedex (fedex shipping slip on it, with a valid tracking number) with no signature. Lucky me, nobody picked it up at my door during the day. I could have said I have never received it - they have no single way to prove I did... made the seller aware of that, he was quite upset.

Did you open that account using a UK-based or German address, Tony?

Their customer service told me their (Private collectors) service is only available for UK and Germany atm.

TNT allow insured amounts that other private couriers as FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc, won’t.

    Thanks guys for the feedback.

I guess ideally Parcel Pro is best, but Ferrari Express is an option.

Would it be possible for someone to use their ParcelPro account from US lets say, to ship a package from Germany to HK?

Just out of interest, you seem to sell watches regularly, how do you insure when shipping those?

Can't you use the same system?

I believe so - all they have to do is go into their account and put in the FROM and TO addresses. That will create a shipping label (the one that goes on the outside box and the inside box), which you can send to the person shipping.

Ahh, should be more clear, I am not selling but buying a watch, and the seller is not experienced, hence the question.

Well noted buddy, thanks for clearing that up.

Now if someone in OF can help me with this. :whistling:
