I've purchased, but not yet received, this dial. Not quite sure what I will do with it yet; there are a few 105.003's for sale, at reduced prices, because they have service dials.

I don't really know much about dial restoration. Is it kosher to spruce it up? What can be done? Who's the artist to send it to? Ballpark cost? Or leave it alone?

Thanks and sorry about the poor photo image.jpg image.jpg

Leave it be. Sorta has a charm all its own the way it is, and I don't think much can really be done to it without ruining it.

You can get it re-lumed using an appropriate patinated tritium (<$200). All depends on your personal preference. It is pretty beaten up, so a relume might stand out a bit too much? Achim on OF is a bit of a whizz at reluming!

Reluming is kosher, with full disclosure if selling it. Some people don't mind a relume, others it would put off.

I think both have a point. I'd leave it alone but if you want to re lume then remember it probably wont match the hands unles you do them as well.
