·No. Not a big deal. You can look for an original crown at your leisure but very common and should not deter you from nice watch.

·heres a prior OF private sales thread of this reference from few years ago- with lots of photos to compare- and I think it has the original crown

Collectors usually value original crowns, especially if they have a special shape. A nice replacement crown is not necessarily a deal breaker, but it can impact value a bit —or a lot —depending on the watch.
There are some correct crowns which are relatively easy to source, and some which are impossible to find.
Examples see pictures below, Waltham used to be mine, the Longines credit seller Slake25 on Ebay.

·Thanks guys, I’m new to vintage, so trying not to rush into buying it. Someone told me don’t buy vintage second hand watches before you have a collection of modern watches. Why is that? I feel like it’s common wisdom.

I think the only common wisdom is that vintage watches are a bit of a mine field. There are lots of redials, parts that have been changed or have been worn. It definitely requires more learning and time to find the adequate watch at an adequate price, when these question are not fully relevant when buying new.
