    Greetings everyone,

I am new to Vintage watches. I have been looking around for a Vintage Omega Seamaster. Reading around this forum and other forums I read that the 565 movements are very good movements so I looked for Omegas with that movement. I will attach pictures of the watch from eBay. The seller is a Vintage watch seller with 100% feedback but as I have read that doesn't mean anything. The watch seems to be authentic to my eyes but I have just started learning about these watches. The seller says this watch is from 1968. Has a 24 jewels 565 movement. Is running and keeps time but the fast date set isn't working. The watch looks to be in very good condition except for the dial which has a beautiful patina so that kind of makes me wonder if it's a fake or redial. The price is $356 USD. Any advice or feedback would be highly appreciated! Thank you!

What information have you been able to find by Googling the reference number?

That's not my idea of a beautiful patina.

The ref. Number definitely exist. There are watches similar to this one. This ref number is circa 1966 but that's as much as I can get. I was hoping someone who has more knowledge would shed some light as to whether it is a good buy for the price. And is it an authentic or is a fake or redial. Thanks!

I guess everyone has their preferences and I think the dial looks good or is the dial no good? Like as in it's damaged or something of that nature.

Well it's reasonably cheap but there's a reason - the dial, while original has aged poorly and lost some of the text.

Either wait it out for a better example in this price range or pay more for a better one.

Even if you were willing to accept the poor condition of the dial take into account the movement is badly in need of a service to prevent further damage.
As you say quickset does not work and it looks quite dirty.
This will set you back a hundred or two unless you can do it yourself.
