Need a second set of eyes on this.

Hello all, kinda feel silly asking, but it can't hurt to ask and I have tough skin of I get made fun of. LOL. I picked out the parts of a watch that my dad likes in a watch. Easy to read numbered dial, day date with a top grade ETA 2836, and rose gold. I am pretty sure the lugs are warbled out. Initially I blamed the easy spring strap, but he had the same problem with normal springbars on his last strap. I can source the same case. He brags to everyone about his one of a kind watch, and I'd like to see it back on his wrist. Just looking for a second opinion on the lug holes. Thanks in advance for any input.

They look at little oval - when you select a spring bar try to make sure the very end of the bar fits closely inside the lug hole. If there's a lot of play the bar will move around and cause wear.

I just want to confirm I should try a better spring bar before considering a new case. Uncle's Straps sells Fat Boy bars. It is worth a try. The other option that comes to mind is a bit of filing on a 21mm spring bar. Thanks Archer.

Do straps come out easily? Maybe make sure the holes are free of debris, so the spring bar can sit flush. In the picture it does look like there's metal shavings inside, but that may be reflections.



Maybe try a 2mm single flange spring bar with long ends.

Thanks all the fat pins were too wide. I put 21mm pins in. Had to file one a bit. So far so good. That seems to have done the trick
