gigantic seagulls at the Colosseum... pretty tame for waterbirds too, and more orderly than many of the people.

One of the denizens of our swimming pool. This little guy is about 2.5 inches in length from nose to butt.

At this size, they come and go from the pool with ease. Much smaller than this and they can’t exit the pool once they get in, and they die after a few days. By the end of summer they grow quite large.

Adolescent frog rescue has become a daily part of our pool experience.

It is interesting that these frogs are quite happy to be handled. They are content to sit on one’s hand or shoulder for extended periods of time while one moves around the pool, as if their human host was a tour boat.

I have no idea where these frogs hole-up in the fall, but they are back every spring and summer.

I like to encourage my bluejays to hang around when it gets hot and usually the cardinals show up as a bonus, so my oscillating sprinkler goes on every day for a bit.

Sorry I had a nice after storm rainbow I meant to put with this picture. We had some lightning strikes causing the tree to hit my wifes car, this is the second time Mother Nature put a tree on my wife’s car. I have since lost the nice rainbow pic.
