Thanks for all of the feedback. Who would have thought you had to frequently wash natos. I do take showers with them on. I'll rethink things next summer and decide if I stick with the bracelet and just put up with sand in the adjustable clasp.

Bracelets also have to be washed regularly 😀 The same gunk builds up between the links and will eventually wear out your bracelet as well. Modern bracelets hold up better than some of the older bracelets with hollow links but anything is susceptible to wear over time - the cleaner you keep it, the longer it lasts.

Sand has broken a few of my spring loaded clasps 🙁

I wouldn't worry about scratches - just wear what you like and enjoy your watch. You bought it to wear it - the more you enjoy the watch, the more scratches it will attain. Just rinse your bracelet/strap/watch in fresh water regularly as sweat/salt + steel don't mix. Scratches aren't a big deal but pitting/corrosion isn't good.
