Checked this museum out a few weeks ago. If any of our members go to Yellow Stone National Park this museum not far and worth a visit. Who would think a museum of this caliber would be in the middle of nowhere in WY. It was like a maze of military vehicles would take two days to see everything. They have the Rifle that fired the first shot in the battle of Bunker Hill in the American Revolution the battle where they said fire when you see the whites of their eyes. Main reason I went to the museum they had a PBR river patrol boat I use to operate them in the Navy to my surprise they also had a STAB a fast assault boat the seals use in Vietnam only saw one before when I was in SBU 11 were maintenance help rebuild one think it was for a museum. A few photos. Worth a visit.

Notice the wood on the side of the tank a little US Marine ingenuity it prevents a Japanese magnetic mine from sticking. Plus metal spikes on turret to prevent a Japanese solider from throwing a grenade in the hatch of the tank.

Higgens Boat they somehow stuff 32 men on these to land on a deadly beach. It's made of wood. I used to operate the later 6 and 8 boats landing craft they were bigger and made of steel a little better when I was in the Navy. They improved a little since WW2.

Another type of landing craft used in the pacific because it can get over reefs where the Higgins boat would get stuck and be a target.

A few more photos tell you I got lost in this museum and had to ask for directions out. It's big and I still think I missed seeing all of it.
