Neat!

Aircraft of the 50's and 60's were really masterpieces. You can really feel they were beast

Spur of the moment decision to visit the above this afternoon and despite it only being partially open given the current situation it was well worthwhile - https://www.nms.ac.uk/national-museum-of-flight/

Ha! The Peoples Republic of Nottinghamshire have bombed-up theirs in case of invaders from the North 馃榿

The missile is a Blue Steel -- I hope it's inert. A small donation gets you into the cockpit 馃榾

Concorde... the only airliner fast enough to stay in the shadow during a Solar eclips so astronomers could long-duration observe these events !

Some more images including a clock, just wish my eyesight was good enough to read the maker.

Oh man! A Concorde and a Vulcan that's terribly cool.

Don't stand behind either when they start the engines. This was taken at Little Gransden, which is 1870ft of grass runway so it didn't land.

I remember as a youngster watching a couple of Vulcans in white flying low over the River Forth towards North Berwick before blasting over us as they climbed over the cliffs 馃グ
Both locations in Scotland.

Concorde is highly missed. Heard of plans of returning hypersonic flight with 20 passenger plane being developed.

Even in 2D that first image of the Concorde seemed to leap out of the page. Looks like its flying while sitting still.

A little oil leakage 馃榾

The Museum staff carefully place those pools of oil there to make the display more realistic. In service these vehicles would seldom be seen without oil spots under them.
If the staff had more pride in their work there would be smashed bugs on the windshields and a dead possum hung up in the front suspension.

The oil put me in mind of my first Land Rover 馃う

Cool stuff nice way to spend a day. We lived near a air force base they would do tours similar to this. I was a kid my father was a marine so the airmen had a lot of fun putting me in the turrets and pilots seats etc. The history of flight is quite amazing

Enough thrust and anything can be made to fly. Of course there are some aircraft that are so ugly the earth repels them ....
