·Thanks for the kind words. I originally printed out the picture and posed over it, but the printing and the photo of the printed picture wasn't great. So from that, cut out foreground and darkened it to put over original picture. Then added cut out watch from original picture becuase I wanted to preserve as much detail as possible.

·Really appreciate the postive comments. What was actually a LOT harder was making the watchstrap in the first place. Took a couple of hundred hours in all, learning to sew with a semi-industrial sewing machine, making the steel loops, sourcing the right materials. Just wanted to celebrate that, with some pics.

I was very dissatisfied with the other available NASA velcro watchstraps that claimed to be authentic, so I decided to do something about it and make my own. Apart from the fact that all genuine ones that have come up for auction are quite faded (e.g. Fred Haise's at Bonhams and Ron Evans at Heritage auctions) they are indistinguishable from the real thing in archive photos.
For me, it completes the watch.

·Thanks, I've not been posting for a while because I've been busy making and selling authentic NASA watchstraps. Now my Speedy is at the Swatch Service center getting an overhaul.
