I think its the film "Irreversible". I only saw it once. A difficult film to watch due to the subject matter and the filming sequence. I did enjoy it though

Yep! The original is so much better than Martin Scorseses' remake, one of my least favourite Scorsese films.. Although there was some fascinating cinematography in the remake, and the Saul Bass titles sequence is just sublime, together with the incredible reworking by Bernard Herman of his original score..

Belleville Rendevous and I think in the US also, and Les Triplettes de Belleville in France. If anyone hasn't seen it, it's genius!
