I have a 2915-3 with a 32 ridge service crown, situation unacceptable of course... reading MWO, found a Naiad crown, bought it but the question is: this one is smaller (though a bit worn) at only 6.35mm or so? also lower and with a slightly rounded top? Is this a possible Speedmaster crown or is it for something else? I have seen advertising material where an early Speedmaster definitely has a smaller (and rounded top?) crown? any thoughts greatly appreciated! Cheers, Niklas
Could it be a crown for a 14755 or other early Seamaster 300? Does the tube for the winding stem extend the dimensions of the crown, can you send me a picture of the backside. Anyhow, if this is a crown for the 14755 i would happily trade it with you for a vintage Speedy crown
basically mercedes omega crown can be on early 2998's on 2915 i dont exactly know but very possible, ecspecially as you have the -3. Concerning diamter I do not know by heart. I have one one 2998 with this mercedes crown unfortunately my digital measure instrument run out of battery recently so can not measure in the moment :-(
The merc crown was on both early 2915, 2914 and 2913's. The size was about the same, but the tap size is of course different 1.0 vs 1.2 vs 0.9mm if memory serves me right. I have one on my 2914-3 and on my 2913-1. If you have a picture of the backside I might figure it out .. Or else just find 3 stems with those tap sizes and try them out
Have to check mine to be sure, but I think that yours is for the 2914 (or 2913), but not the 2915 for sure. The back on the 2915 should look like this one. And besides the tap size of the stem, the tube size required could also be a Little different in the 3 references...
