    Hi everyone,

Recently came in to my grandfathers omega and when I brought it to a certified dealer they weren’t able to provide much details on the make and history. Anyone able to tell me a bit about it from image? It’s not the original bracelet.

And likely not the original dial.

Did they remove the caseback? That's where the info is.

Yup they removed the caseback which is not the original. They said they thought it was an original dial, but couldn’t place the year or model.

We need pictures of the case back (outside and inside) and a pic of the movement.

Hi @ferdinand35 and welcome to the forum.

All of the information we need to help you is contained on the inside caseback of your watch. As mentioned above, your dial has been repainted (redialed) at some point in its long life. This was commonly done back in the day, often offered as an extra service so as to "refresh" the watch, and likely performed during the regular tuneup required by all mechanical watches.

Based on the style of the hands and the repainted dial (let's assume the repainted dial was meant to look like the original) your watch likely dates to the 1940s. Subdial seconds were more popular in Europe than in the US market, which preferred centered second hands. Unfortunately, if as you say, the caseback is not original to the watch, there is not much more we can tell you about it.

Except to say that, as an heirloom from your grandfather, it is exceedingly rare and priceless. :)

The whole dial is repainted : logo is wrong for this period (and post probably for any period....)
