I remember my dad back around 1963 shopping for a new watch, we went to EJ Korvette which was an early discount department store, and they had Jules Jurgensen watches in their jewelry department. I don't think my dad ever heard of the name, but the watches looked nice and they weren't too expensive, about $25 which was about as much as he would ever think of paying for a watch. He didn't buy one.
