My small vintage IWC collection

I have to say one thing about pellaton/89, the only thing you have to do around them is cleaning/regulation, I had plenty of those and never any single part of mechanism needs replacement. It’s truly amazing, all of them are ~60 years old, owning one of those feels like you have good old Mercedes, running flawlessly for decades.

Very nice collection! IWC was my first vintage love (666 Ingenieur), and I have owned many.

Thank you, IWCs are always the hardest choice for me when it comes to selling one or another. I feel like they are still underpriced and generally underestimated. I'm not sure what can compete, 3135? Still far behind rolex

Lovely collection you have there!

I have one ref. 1815 that needed to have one jewel replaced (the one in the rotor bearing), but it was both okay to source a replacement, and not too much of a hassle for my watchmaker to do. Aside from that, I'm growing more and more fond of the Pellaton movements, and am looking to add a cal. 89 (or one of the thinner siblings, 401/402/403) to the collection.

Vintage IWC is quite rewarding, in my eyes. You need to do quite a bit of research, but over time, the treasure hunt becomes quite interesting.

This is the only one I have, great case and lugs, great beatiful dial nice evenly aged and I have it with original guarantee and box.

Nice IWCs!

You need a gold one. ;-)

You are totally right!
This one I sold 2 weeks ago and I regret a bit because it was such a beauty in great condition also. But, I will definitely get another one some day, for my way of wearing watches I prefer steel one

Me too, I rarely wear gold watches. But some of my favorite gold watches are IWC cal 89 models.

I love the steel bracelets on these

There’s IWC oyster type with yachtclub and IWC gay freres with r1819 and yachtclub. Each is exceptional fits with case perfectly and looks great, personally for daily usage I like GF more. But oyster type is more desired as what I read about them.

BoR also, as shown on the Ingenieuer (Gay Freres, IWC-logo). The straight end BoR is a Gay Freres bracelet, not IWC-branded, but added at the point-of-sale in Zurich in 1952 (I purchased it from the original owner).

An absolutely lovely little collection. I sometimes wish I had picked up an IWC when I was into dress watches.

Very nice collection, not small at all.
Me too I am a IWC fan and here's my 3.

And a 4th (IWC 89 rose gold shark fin lugs) is on the way (it should be delivered in a couple of days; so stay tuned).

I love it, for me its bigger than what case size really is, this is one of my favourite case designs, very well done with those ears. My wrist size is ~18cm. And the dial is amazing as well, here's a photo in a weak light, mine is full original and has some very light signs of aging, those high polished indexes, very simple, no date, those hands, for me its complete watch. For this one I also have original box and papers 😀

Nice to see a 1827 on an original bracelet. I have had to make do with an aftermarket one but it serves its purpose. I wear my one regularly and really enjoy it. Great watches.
