My Omega Seamaster 550 back from service!

Got my Omega Seamaster 550 back from servicing. The second hand would stop/skip and make some bad noises. Runs perfectly now. The bracelet was thoroughly cleaned and nothing was polished at all except for the crystal. Which leads to a question there are some deep scratches on the crystal and my watchmaker didn't want to polish them all the way down in fear of ruining the original crystal. So should I leave it as is or go deeper on the polishing? It's my choice... Great looking watch and the bracelet looks nice although there is some gold wearing off. Also, I can't quite make the serial number out entirely here... it's a front loader so I can't just go open it myself. I think it is 22,278,432 which would put it at 1965? Also, all together I spent $380 on this watch.

leave it be as part of the history! It looks great in the photo, I bet the damages on crystal shouldn't be an issue functionally

The serial number looks to me like 19,278,432. That dates the movement to about 1962, which is correct for the style of S in Seamaster on the dial.

I remember you posting this watch earlier and it's great to see how nice it looks now. The wear to the GP on the BOR doesn't show in the photos and I doubt is noticeable in real life either. Very good value for money IMO. I forget whether I mentioned this before but I suspect the case ref. is 14745.
