Good day! For over two years I have been silently following this forum, appreciating the knowledge and learning what to look for. I felt it is now time to share one of my own pieces which I confidently acquired with guides from the web and from this forum. Omega Seamaster 300 Serial: 23xxxxxx Year: ca. 1966 Ref. No.: 165.024-64 Outside: - 42mm stainless steel Huguenin Frères case and caseback (HF) - Bakelite bezel with bold condensed font - rounded top '3' - flat top '4' - horizontal serif on '1' - Naiad non-screw crown Inside: - Omega cal. 552 with 24 jewels, straight line lever escape, monometallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring - Matte black 3-6-9-12 "T SWISS MADE T" dial - Baton style hands (whats left) Here is a side-by-side shot next to a Rolex Submariner 5513 - also from around that time. Brothers from different mothers. Here is another shot next to my second-favorite Seamaster. A Ref. 2254.50 from 2007 Basically the watch has never been touched but that will hopefully change soon! I am looking for a pair of hands. Baton hands would be periodically correct but if you happen to have a nice pair of sword style hands I would consider Thanks all for the years of knowledge and help! A+
Nice post. You can have the hands stabilized and painted to match. Keeping the original hands with it would be nice, unless you want sword hands.
Very nice watches. I think finding period correct and intact hands will be a challenge. In the meantime, you might want to have the existing hands relumed by someone who can match the correct color.
Funny thing: the day after i received the watch i gave it to my watchmaker to restore the hands. I literally camped outside his shop the following morning to get it back untouched...
Beautiful catch..and that submariner is something else as well with its buttery patina and faded bezel. Congratulations!
