Hi, all members. I want to share another uncommon of omega constellation. This was omega rail track 14393-5 , all stainless steel, with “Black Stardust Dial”. The serial no. was 17,298,3xx with cal.562. I saw the yellowish patina remaining in hour markers but missing some parts in hands (such as in the pics). I think the dial was also original and got beautiful glit dial with white printed. The crown (10-sided crown) was also correct. I try to search another black rail track (in google and forums). https://omegaforums.net/threads/black-rail-dial-connie-crown-fitted.114059/ I found only one from @watchyouwant. In that post , he mentioned that he found only “3” of black railtrack in around 30 years. Furthermore, I sent pm to him and I'm really grateful for his help. He told me that all of 3 (that he was seen) was stainless but with gold printed. At first ,I concerns about letter “M” in the word chronometer look different in beautiful all stainless steel (posted by @cristos71) i found most of them such as from @Peemacgee that middle leg of M (not sure how to call it) looks shorter with straight leg of M https://omegaforums.net/threads/14ct-14393-4-rail-track-connie-for-review-please.32422/ While I found only some (also like me) that M was longer with slant leg of M. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/steel-1960s-omega-constellation-1776577114 Thanks, @Peemacgee who told me that both of them can be found in railtrack. Thanks @cristos71, @watchyouwant, @Peemacgee and @Dr No for always help me via pm asking. My wrist shot: In my opinion, May be mine was the first black rail track with all stainless steel with white printed? Thanks for all comments and opinions. Teerapat
That's the third Connie dial you've shown us I've never seen before. This one's especially pleasing. Amazed, Art
Finally, I just found another example that look like mine. From @Boojumhunter , it was ref. 14393-10SC (mine 14393-5SC) with same SS material. Kind regards, Teerapat
Finally, I change the strap to the BOR bracelet and change the crown to be a thin scalloped crown. As discussed with @seekingseaquest, the scalloped crown can be the correct crown for ref.14393, esp. for railtrack dial.
May I share more pictures? The stardust pattern is arranged by nature. It’s impossible to duplicate. Please note the consistency in minute markers and the original of lume on hour-markers.
If I understand it correctly, normally, we will refer to this picture to prove that some 14393 (also 14381) originally come with the “thin scalloped” crown. I just found this advertisement (ref. 14393) to confirm what we believe. I believe that it was written in French.
Good advert @qazwsx1. Especially interesting that it has the contemporary prices (in ‘New Francs’, which itself is a short-lived piece of French socio-economic history @Syrte )
I add more pictures of my “thin scalloped” crowns, these might be used as a reference. From this picture (written in French), I believe that the correct crown should be “4210”. My measurements:
@qazwsx1 might I suggest that you add your valuable advert pics and research regarding the scalloped crowns to ConElPueblo's thread? https://omegaforums.net/threads/the-curious-case-of-controversial-constellation-crowns.54568/
