I bought this Omega watch in about 1970 as I had noticed that many WW2 pilots wore their watches with the face of the watch on the inside of the wrist. When I researched this I realised that it was possible to damage/scratch the face of a regular watch on the cockpit side when using the throttle/mixture levers on the left of the cockpit.

This watch has been fantastic over the past 47 years and kept excellent time. As a pilot and glider pilot the watch has been ideal.

Most people cannot get their heads around the fact that the twelve o’clock position is where the normal three o’clock position would be[emoji848]

Well done Omega, this really was innovative[emoji106]

I think 18mm on these - 22mm is the lug width on the Jumbo.

Omega were always one of the most innovative of the Swiss brands and manufactured several specialist watches during the heyday period of the 60's and 70's. These 'driver' chronostops are great watches. Amazing that you bought it new too!
I have one of these chronostops but since you're another glider pilot I'll post a pic of my glider instead. Welcome to the forum!

These are for Fatcat......FYI the bracelet is 18mm. I did buy a nice leather one when I bought the watch all those years ago but the leather did not last long[emoji33]
I have worn this watch continuously since new, but recently when I realised how special it is, I have taken to wearing a cheap Sekonda when doing “jobs”

I'm lucky enough to have bought this Discus B this spring, it flies much better than I do!
