After some months, years, of waiting and searching, I finally found a Rolex Oyster Quartz, reference number 17014. For those of you not familiar oyster quartz, this is the very rare, in terms of production numbers, model. The case is stainless steel, the bezel is 18 K White gold. The bracelet is all stainless and is the same design as the two-tone 17013.The black dial is original as are the hands and second hand. It is the same model I was shown years ago in El Paso, by a Rolex dealer. The oyster quartz caliber 5035, was five years in the making. It is the most accurate movement ever produced by Rolex. Production began in 1979 with reference 17000, it was not COSC certified. Later all models were sold COSC certified. The most, in terms of production, is the 17013 two-tone, next the 17000 followed by the 17014 and the gold day-date. Considering only approximately 24,000-25,000 total were produced over a period from 1979 to 2001. That's not many per year and less broken down by model.

Value, used in all models are selling for more than what new cost back then. Rolex will only service them in NYC or RWSC Dallas.
