Ok so I know this is really not that interesting as it's a new bog standard Sub but this is what I've wanted for years and finally for me it's become a reality. I bought this a couple of weeks ago and since then it hasn't left my wrist. I couldn't be happier, and just wanted to tell everyone (i know that's sad)

Thank you, its one of those things i never thought id realistically be able to own until i was at least in my 40's.
Oddly its by far my most valuable watch but is the one i'm least worried about dinging or scuffing. It just feels right.

Hope you still give the vintage ones a bit of wrist time. ;)

    You certainly have the bug....

Nice watch  and you don't have to apologise for pictures of watches here.

Thanks Andy, to be honest nothing else has had any wrist time in the 2 weeks ive had this.
I see you're on the list for the Speedy Tuesday, id so love a full size Speedy but they just don't look right on my wrist. Hence the Speedy reduced i own.

If it is, most here are sad .. me included. I got my first Rolex a couple of weeks ago and I still can't stop staring at it. It's the watch I've wanted for some time and it's one of the few watches that really lives up to all I wanted it to be.

    Edit: Oh, we doing photos?

From another sad, pathetic Sub owner, I suggest that the feeling you have right now will fade; in about 12 to 15 years. That's how long it took for it to fade with me. I was looking at my original box and receipt yesterday (from 2002). I was overjoyed with just the Sub for 13 years until the Speedmaster caught my eye....

Now my son has the bug too. Some father I turned out to be.

Edit: Where are my manners? I almost neglected the gratuitous shot (a recycled photo of a good subject):

I'm sure your son will be actively encouraging you to buy more watches so he can "borrow" them

    Congrats!
And wear it in good health. I know how it feels to buy your first Rolex.
    Greetings from the green brother.

Not sad at all. They are starting to appeal even to me. Let's see what happens at BW2017. If there is nothing appealing then maybe I will have to pull the trigger on this:-

Does anyone know if the cyclops magnification is significantly different between an early 1680 and the latest 116610LN?

Howard, I do rather prefer the symmetry of the no-date modern version...

I agree. The non date looks clean. But for me I really need a date, it's why I'm getting rid of my Black Bay.

I'm actually ok with the date, just not a big fan of the cyclops... i've seen some date subs with custom no-cyclops crystal and it looks great!

The sub is the only modern watch i own but yet it gets the most wrist time! also it gets better as you wear it. I love mine with all my scuffs and marks from my use :) i wear it when i snowboard, swim, shower, etc. anything you can think of...
