I guess my PM to you with the auction link counts as "found this online" 😉.

But let me share some more background to this watch. On the same day or the day after @qazwsk1 posted his second golf dial Seamaster I found this example here https://www.ricardo.ch/de/a/alte-omega-uhr-automatik-seamaster-1174997740/ and I could hardly believe my eyes. The seller seems to be a estate liquidator that sells all sorts of stuff and probably didn't know much about this particular watch. His description goes like "very beautiful used Seamaster, some scratches, but works" 😀.

So I thought I was onto something. However, at first I had doubts about the numbers 1 and 2 at 12 o'clock as their bases do not perfectly align. It reminded me of an other member's case where he found a black dial version and shortly before pulling the trigger realized that the "1" was in fact a later replacement. @qazwsx1 and @cristos71, however, kindly provided me with advice and assured me of its originality. Many thanks guys.

Hence, with great anxiety and excitement did I wait for last Friday, and I was committed to win it. But I ended up in a bidding war with the eventual winner and I was bidding against a wall, and dropped out after CHF 2110 (!). He was definitely more committed and had deeper pockets. According to another OF member the winner works at the Omega Museum, but does not buy on its behalf, but for his own collection. Let's see whether it will resurface again with a new crystal and perhaps another crown. Or the museum does buy it off him with a nice premium and we can all enjoy it in Bienne.

Here are more pictures for posterity.

You got into a fit about sharing this AFTER the auction ended (without ever mentioning I should keep it private) and you complained that 'if I wanted, I would have shared it myself'.
I even edited my post to remove the auction link and you accused me of posting it just to get likes! I guess now the ship has sailed, you decided to be generous and share this with the world.
I am not into drama, I will let fellow members make their own conclusions.

The point was I was trying to make was that you should ask your source of information before reproducing it and claiming it to be yours, no matter whether the auction had ended or was still live. It's a matter of principle that somehow evades you.

No it wasn't, you simply wanted to withhold that information for your own reasons and now decided to take the high road. Anyone could have found that auction after it ended, if you were only concerned about credit you would have been more pleasant about it!
