After reviewing the ad and description, I've sent off a nasty note to the seller. I should get a refund and not have to pay to ship the stupid thing back to the U.K. We'll see what he says.
I doubt you鈥檒l get anything, not even a reply. Just put it down to experience, learn and move on.

In my defense, again, 馃檨 this is the ad description:

Item details
Handmade item

Materials
rubber, stainless steel

This is a replacement 20mm strap for the Omega Aquaterra 2018 model, but this will fit older Aqua terras to give your watch a fresh new look, and it will also fot[sic] the seamaster 300m both old and new versions (20mm lug) ... Made of very good quality soft rubber which is very comfortable, the comes with a good quality aftermarket stainless steel deployant clasp. The strap will be supplied with good quality 1.6mm spring bars. ... This is an aftermarket part, made for Omega, not made by Omega

and this was the actual ad:

https://www.etsy.com/listing/646648691/omega-2018-aquaterra-20mm-rubber-strap

Nowhere does it claim to be an actual Omega bracelet or replica, nor do the pictures show the Omega branding. So, now that I think about it, the description was misleading and a misrepresentation of the product.

I once bought a leather strap on an Omega-style deployant clasp and received an Omega marked (non-Omega) strap with a non-branded clasp... The quality of the strap was great, but I was confused as to why someone wanted to counterfeit an item and then not market it as the real thing or a "replica" of a such.

If you paid by credit cars report it to your cc company. Same if you paid via PayPal.

He did reply and suggested that I send it back. That's a real hassle, since it is international and requires a customs form, so i think I'll see what etsy will do. Then if I have to, I'll do a chargeback.

We stand corrected. Sorry.

No worries, Larry.

The seller did get back to me and promised to refund me the return postage as well, so it looks like he's a stand-up guy.

Good catch, Mercy.

In my defense, I did not think I was buying a knock-off, rather I thought I was buying a strap made in the style of the Omega. I thought (in my naivete) that Etsy was about hand made or custom items, not fake Chinese crap.
I have some magic beans you may like to buy.

I like magic beans, they are low in calories and a good source of protein. Will you take a post-dated check from my Nigerian bank?

Why not trade a "genuine" Omega AT strap?

Hope you get everything sorted satisfactorily.

Nothing more than a simple case of you get what you pay for. I have no idea why you would put a $$ strap on a $$$$ watch.
Hope it all works out and you get your money back. OEM is the way

Glad you pointed this out. I鈥檓 searching for that part that holds the old omega dynamic to the strap. I see this guy on esty has one. I don鈥檛 know if it鈥檚 the same guy. If it actually did the job I wouldn鈥檛 mind but if it can do damage I鈥檒l wait around till I see one pop up.
