Hi everyone. I'm pretty excited about this. When I saw Ash's red gold 320 last week I knew I had a new grail. I just didnt realize I would find it so quickly. Mike responded to my WTB ad with this last night. And less than 24 hours later, it's officially mine . It's getting a movement service from his watchmaker but I will have it probably in a week or two. Thanks Mike!
Haha, that's true. But I knew it needed a service so it's better than getting it, and then having to send it off for a few weeks and wait again! Plus I got a pretty good deal on the service IMO.
Well that certainly didn't take you long lol Judging by the photography, its coming from a good home, didn't know Mike was parting with anything this nice
Incidentally, read up on this watch's distant relative, the Patek Philippe 5070. The two watches may be $70,000 apart in price, but they share the same Omega 320 / Lemania 2310 base movement, styling and precious metal cases.
Congrats Justin. Now if you will just excuse me, I need to go post WTBs for a 2499, 2500, Zenith A3817, A3818, Carelli, Longines 13ZN......Oh wait, I also need to post a FS on my house.
You & me both brother. Problem is I'm gonna be tapped out for a while. Can't be to discouraged about that though, especially with my recent purchases!
Just for comparative purposes, this is the 320 I almost bought when I knew nothing about vintage Omega's I think I have come a long way since then
It was a bit difficult to let this one go not only because it was a nice piece - the minimalist dial style in addition to the 18k gold case and nice thin case made this an ideal "dress watch" - but this was also one of my earliest vintage omega purchases. And in order to carry out some reorientation in my vintage omega collection, some nice pieces will unfortunately have to go.
I would like to announce that Mike's watchmaker is already finished with my watch and I will have it on Wednesday. Expect lots of pics
