Hi all I've been lurking here for a while and have several Omegas. This one below as it says is my late father's can any of you give me any information on this model . Thanks in advance P
If you've been lurking then you must have read the sticky at the top of the board about what's needed to provide accurate information.
Ok I'll add a few more pictures now, as for case off I'm in no position to do this (lack the skill or knowledge) and Its just back from a very expensive service with omega. They said they could not date it 100% but it was made in the early / mid 1960's Very disapointed they could not be more accurate considering they had it apart. My Dad had it for as long as I can remember and I'm 48 now. And I'm no David Bailey sorry guys!
A photo of the movement and inside caseback would make it easy to date via Omega site. With just these photo's, the best you are going to get is "mid '60s".
More likely from the early 70´s I would say. I will hazard a guess and say it is a ref. 166.067, made between 1969 and 1973. http://www.naligazone.com/index.php/data-watch/omega/caliber-5/cal-565/st-166-067 It´s a nice watch with one of the best Omega movements: Cal. 565. And it´s your fathers - that´s priceless. Enjoy it Regards
Thanks guys, it was the watch that led me down the Omega path. It is the most treasured possession my father left me and a gift to him from his best friend, they met aged 5! He also died two years ago. P
Cheers mate! I've had a lousy evening but that post has really made me laugh! Thankyou! What a lovely understated but classy looking watch your Dad left you. I also have my late Father's Omega watch. It's a double edged sword. The sentimental value of the watch up against the curiosity of it's value as a collectors item. Anyway thanks for sharing it with us. Feel free to 'lurk'.
