Hello to you all. I inherited an Omega watch from my father which he got as a present for 25 years of employment. By researching I came across this forum and was amazed about knowledge present here. I found out a lot but still miss some info and maybe someone can be helpful. The watch is a 1967 production according to the number on the movement (25056749) and caliber 601.
    Inside case markings:
    • 131026 (Gent’s watch, manual winding centre second, non-water-resistant)
    • 14K 0.585 (14 Krt gold)
    • Swiss Hallmark Squirrel (14 Krt gold)
    • Poinçon de Maître (PdM) No. 5: key of Geneva (for gold and platinum watch cases with a minimum thickness of 0.3 mm made in Geneva)
    • PdM 5, No.1 Ed. Wenger SA Genève (Producer of the case)
The pictures provide a good view of the watch.
One marking inside the case puzzles me, I can't find anything about it. It's the forked marking just above the PdM. Also their is no model name, maybe it is a special production for a person celebrating his golden jubilee, I don't know. The watch is in pristine condition as my father almost did not wear it, he didn't particularly like gold watches. If anyone knows this I would be very thankful.

@ulackfocus - late contestant to best newbie thread of the year?

@Dutchie: There are a lot of Omegas without a model name, it's only later on all model lines had their own designation. Lovely watch and in splendid condition

    @Dutchie welcome to the forum!
This was a great introduction and a great first post how we seasoned "dinos" all like it and expect it should be

So I am willing to share information with you:
    https://www.omegawatches.com/planet-omega/heritage/vintage-details/15074/

see this site on the Omega official database - it shows you all the deatils you need - the watch shown is 18K but this is the only difference to yours which is 14K. These watches have been built in different alloys/versions.

    best
    Erich

Echo alll said here. Please take it to a good local watchmaker for a movement only service. Even though it looks new, the oils have probably degraded. Will cost a few hundred but will be well worth it. Don't send it to Omega.

    Welcome to the forums!

As others have said, have it serviced and wear it.

    Thank you Erich,
The only question remaing is the fork shaped stamping inside the case. Any opinion on that?

    Hi Larry,
I've have it running for 3 days now and it's not fast or slow, beautiful on time. The watchmaker who openend the case for me said not to do anything because everything looked and worked as it should.

Not only a late entrant, but now the leader in the pack simply because of this:

Nicely done Dutchie! Great heirloom too.

I'd have it cleaned out (old oils and dirt could hurt the movement) and lubricated, then wear it with pride.

Is that marking stamped or scratched in?

Doesn't appear to be stamped. Not clear or as defined as the other main markings.

Could be a watchmakers mark after it was serviced. Similar to the one at 10:00. Some scratch, some ink as this will tell the next watchmaker when it was last cleaned/repaired

I'm not sure if it's stamped. The 10:00 is certainly a watchmaker's. The case is closed now so I can't check at the moment. It's more then a scratched marking I think
