My girlfriend took my speedmaster!

So I have a bit of a hip girlfriend. She workes in television and magazines. You know, what they call creative and exciting. I, on the other hand, have a boring life. I work behind a computer and sometimes I'm allowed to leave the office. That's my life, no problem. Anyway, we're together for 18 years (not married, I dont like to be in the centre of attention), have two kids, all good. She does'nt care about watches. I had to force her to wear some of mine. But recently she heard about my new (old) speedmaster. And she asked me what I'm doing with my other speedmaster.... Result...

So my question to you is, which watch did your wife/girlfriend/husband/partner took from you?

60鈥檚 Tudor Prince, I have made overtures at trying to get it back but they always fail. She has designs on my Airking too.

My GF grabbed this a few mins after it turned up in the mail. Granted, with the vintage fostner band it showed up on, it's a nice fit for a lady.....

I will say for the record, I love that my lady loves watches, her collection is now 30+ ranging from cocktail watches to chunky tool watches. When you can get your spouse/ other on board with any of your hobbies, it makes it far more fun.

Consider yourself fortunate. As a long-standing owner of several Omegas, several years ago I made the mistake of suggesting to my significant other that we go into the Omega boutique on 5th Avenue in NYC when we were out for a stroll. Just to do a little window shopping for fun. After several glasses of champagne and a few pieces of dark chocolate, this was the result:

Nope. On the positive side I can borrow it, along with her rolex explorer, and that gets me a few additional watch rotations above my current 8 watch limit.

If you are thinking about selling a watch, don't show it to your wife first. I made that mistake a few times, and now she has a nice little entry-level 3-piece vintage collection.

At least I wasn't foolish enough to show her a Speedy Pro or a UG tri-compax. 馃槈
