This is my first Omega. As a newbie I hope I did ok. It’s (as far as I know, a 471 caliber Seamaster De Luxe circa 1957. The dial has a champagne patina. I hate the band and will change it but I love the watch. It keeps time to about plus 2 seconds a day which amazes me. Anyway, I would welcome opinions. You won’t hurt my feelings as a newbie. I simply want to learn. Before I got this watch I read a ton. My goal is to enjoy, learn and continue the amazement at these timepieces.

There is very little I can tell you about the watch from the pictures provided.

We would need the information form the inside of the caseback to say more.

I have concerns about the dial. I think it may have been refinished at one time. There is no “Swiss Made” at the bottom of the dial.

I also think the crown is not the correct one for this case.

    Higher resolution pictures would help.

    Hi Tiger!

Sorry to say that but -as pointed out by @gatorcpa- there could be a lot of issues.
Case looks quite polished, font of Seamaster is incorrect for 1957,
lume on the hands but not on the dial. Minute hand is too long.
Better pictures and reference information are needed

EDIT: On the new pics I see places on the hour markers where once had been lume
I never saw these hour markers on an Omega.

If you have the watch just as a daily wearer - No problem with that, enjoy it! :)

I got this as a daily wearer. I didn’t pay much per say. I did not get it as collectible. I figure it has a second crown. The hands seem to be relumed and the dial may have been an early refinish. The case is marked 2802-4SC

The pictures seem to be the best I can do with my phone at work.

Thank you Passover. I also know it has been highly polished. I picked up on most of that buying it so I am learning. I would like to get one in the future that is in good shape and original. I just want to learn so I don’t get ripped off. I got this as a beater to wear before I get a valuable collectible.

I did a quick search as to what a proper Ref. 2802 dial looks like and came across the eBay listing for this particular watch.

My opinion is that you paid a bit of a "noobie tax" on this one. It also looks like some markers had lume (like the hands) and some were replaced. As a general rule, I recommend staying away from South American sellers, unless you really know what you are doing.

Here's what an original dial on one of these should like:

    Hope this helps,
