Sooooooo...... Two weeks ago a well know menber of this forum posted on his instagram account a watch for sale. This watch is actually the Rolex that i've been looking for a while but i always thought was out of range......but apparentely everything was alligned properly and now i'm proud owner of this beauty! A very special thanks to @watchknut who demonstrate to be an incredible seller and person! Well now i have to sell everything but who cares
Yup. And for being a mid 70's watch that has been used is in good condition. But i'm going to take care of him
Yes, my watchmaker inspected the movement and aside from a long due overhaul ( that I was informed about it previous purchase ) the watch doesn’t have any water damage.
Wonderful! I love to see a Rolex that has been worn and used hard, as it was made to be in Geneva so long ago, with all its dings and scratches and specks on the dial, not having been stuffed in a drawer or languishing in a safe! That's why I've never let my AD polish my Sub 14060, bought new in 1996 and worn virtually 24/7 since, a mere infant compared to this marvellous old "Root Beer" GMT! Wear her and enjoy her! Cheers!
These dials age like this due to a breakdown of the pigments in the paint due to UV exposure. Similar to tropical Omegas, the pigments didn't hold up well to UV and aged in these bizarre patterns. Some of the blue dial subs from this era are almost totally faded away.
