My First Omega!

Hello folks! Today I took receipt of my first Omega watch, the 522.30.42.30.06.001 Tokyo 2020 Red Limited Edition!

I have a smaller size wrist, about 6.75” so the bracelet was a bit unwieldy for me. The strap that I have on currently is the Barton Horween Rally Strap. I also have a Himalyan Alligator strap on order with Genteel, should arrive in a few weeks! 😀

Try the flatlink bracelets from Uncle Seiko and Forstner. They fit better on smaller wrists and make the watch less bulky.

I’ll check those out.
Meanwhile I have been looking for a particular strap for this watch, the red alligator leather deployment one that comes with the complete Olympic set, but it seems impossible to find individually. It has a Reference number CUZ009859, but I haven’t seen it for sale anywhere.

Looks great, and will always be a conversation piece from a games that never happened.

That's one nice Speedy. Personally, I think that combination was one of the better Tokyo versions. Enjoy it!

Welcome to the forum! I’m not one that normally gets all hot and bothered for Speedy variants, but this is really pretty.

Plus the 2020 Tokyo themed stuff is going to be fun to collect as time goes on....like Titanic memorabilia 🤦

Thanks for the comments and the warm welcome guys! 😀
I'm super stoked about my first Omega! In fact, it's my first real high-end watch. I had previously a handful of mid-tier watches from the likes of Christopher Ward, Farer, etc.
I chose this model in particular because I love everything Japan, one of my favorite places to visit in the world; and the color red, which is my favorite; and also because it commemorates a year that will be remembered for a long time.

Yea that is true, the Himalaya part refers to the color (gray and white like the mountains of the Himalayas).. the leather itself comes from Nile River crocs.

Ok, but I'm pretty sure alligators are not the same as crocs...

To be honest, if I ever encounter one in the wild, I wouldn't be able to tell if it was an allie or croc.
Either way, my response would be the same: run! 😲

Congrats on that nice 2020 redmaster. The 2021 Tokyo Olympic is now a go. There will be long great stories of that watch in years to come after the olympics.
