Oh - I noticed Uncle Seiko said he is working on a 19mm Beads of rice. here is what it looks like on a Speedmaster Pro. Can't recommend @Uncle_seiko enough. Great to do business with, and a great product.

You know, it's great buying pre-owned, saving money and getting that patina. But there's nothing like the new-watch smell. All shiny and unblemished, I love it! Congrats.

I'm wearing my speedy today.

I actually tried to find a pre-owned FOIS, but had trouble finding one. I almost pulled the trigger on eBay, but it was a pre-owned from the gray market which made me nervous. So I jumped on a new one at a great price, and have no regrets. I went with FOIS in case they discontinue them. I'll get a Pro down the line.

It's a great piece and rarer on the ground than the Pro.

There is also something about the old watch smell 🤮 I once opened up a sealed bag of thrift shop watches while sitting in the car. Pro tip: if you don’t like the smell of DNA, don’t do it

Apparently the FOIS has just gone up in price, in Canada at least, from 5950.00 to 6200.00. The Pro on leather here is now 6350.00, while the .005 big box is now 6500.00. Nothing make-or-break exactly, but seems a bit odd to hike prices given present circumstances.

For a first omega that is stunning, congrats!

I never noticed it on any other comment - what other watches do own?

My main watches are GMT Master II (coke) and an inherited Eterna 18K mechanical (circa 1962), along with a few others of lesser interest. While I admire those with extensive collections, I'm really just looking for 6 watches or so that I can wear regularly. My next target is an Ingenieur (but I may change my mind again!)

Congrats that is a great watch but I feel you cheated no noob tax or questionable authenticity you must have a higher intelligence level than me, but actually I don’t think that’s hard to do.
