My first Omega. Speedmaster Triple Date

I recently received my first Omega watch today to start collecting and learning about the Omega heritage. I purchased a Speedmaster Triple Date from the 'bay at a very reasonable price as an auction sale. I loved the size and complications it has along with the fact it just looks great to me. I was very pleased to have won the auction. I have already taken it to my family's jeweler/watchmaker to get the bracelet fitted and it has been on today ever since.

I question as to whether it is 100% original. By this I mean, I cannot find any pictures anywhere of this watch with a black dial and the polished bezel with black letters/numbers. This bezel is on all the silver and blue dial Triple Date's, but not on any black dial Triple Date that I can find. It has a 1469/813 bracelet and 1150 movement. I figured some one in the history of ownership liked the polished bezel from the other references and bought a bezel to swap it out with the original black with white letters/numbers. I also like it, hence I bought it.

Photos are with an iPhone 7 Plus. Sorry, with this new hobby I am learning I need to buy a real camera. It is next on my list of wants & needs.

From videos I have seen on the movements, it is easier to replace the dial than to pull out the day and month wheels. But, anyone can do anything with enough time and money.

It was on Triple Dates in the early 90's (when the 1150 movement was used) and the dial style matches the same year range. The more I look into it since the day I won the auction I think one of the owners in its history couldn't read the original silver dial very well and had it swapped out for a black dial. That is of course the opinion of a beginner in the hobby, but I can google search with the best of 'em!

My dial does not say "Chronometer" under the "Automatic" though. And it has an Omega 1150 movement.

It appears to be a 3523.3000 with black dial. Not common with a black dial but a few others appear to exist.

Thank you! I really like it so I hope it isn't a fake somehow. That is a bit of a relief hearing "it does exist" to be honest. I have been searching the web all night trying to find one. Still haven't. I'm really happy with the fact I can't find another one like it and mine runs correctly and sweeps correctly compared to all the videos I watched about it. As I said before I got it at a reasonable price so if it turns out to be not real somehow, I get a learning experience and an awesome looking daily wear watch. Better to learn cheap than shoot for the moon, pun intended.


Agreed, but as I said I have found it to match other watches of the same approximate year ranges. And by using those pictures all my letters and logo line up the same as others I have found. It is much rarer to find though searching for it sifting though all the other Triple Date images.

I really like the help everyone has chipped in on this. It's nice to see compared to most other forums I am on for automotive/motorcycles. Those forums are mine fields...

It’s real, no question about that. I think it left the factory that way. The silver bezel and white Date wheels appear to be from other color variations.

I see at least 2 others, so in my opinion it’s not a amalgam of Omega parts, the question is if it left the factory that way which is the worst case.
