My First Omega Ever!

New here - recently picked up an Omega (my first), and after some checks of the buyer's pictures along with a snooping-around of the forums, I finally got this delivered today! Most first Omegas are Speedmasters, Seamasters, and vintage Constellations, so I decided to opt for something a little different! A Ref 800.26.5 with a Cal 26.5 (c. 1926) beating inside! Apart from a small hairline on the enamel/porcelain dial, it is in fantastic condition, with a fully spelled "Importé de Suisse" below and hallmarked silver case! Beyond excited to start my journey with Omega with this killer piece!

Nice one.
Well done on investigating before buying.
The regulator hard over on Retard usually indicated a service is due so get that sorted.

Very nice indeed ! Cushion type cases always have such a vintage - at the same time modern - look and feel !

First Omega ever
Although the factory started in 1848... first watch with Omega on the dial would be around 1903 ?

I thought it would be 1894, when the brand was registered and the Omega 19" was created?

Quickly (ASAP etc!) @dillymikes, change the title of your thread to "My First Omega Ever", or else this will develop into a discussion as to exactly when Omega became officially recognised as a watch brand.

Probably down to the month, or the day, or even the minute (You know how the Swiss are about time).

It's just what we do here.

😉

You guys are WAY off base.

Omega has been making watches in Switzerland since 1775!
