My first Omega de Ville

Hi there.
I have just purchased my first Omega de Ville. I have wanted one for about 50 years! I would like to know more about it if i can.
The seller said it was a 1979 model. Her serial number is 5910103.
She is an unusual shape, I can’t find another. Does that make her rare?
Don’t take any notice of the strap, I have ordered a new (old stock) Omega strap in crocodile leather. That is coming from a watchmaker in Poland. This will take her closer to the original ones I have found that are similar on old adverts.
I am so excited to be the owner of this watch, her monetary value is not important, it’s a lifetime wish to have an Omega de Ville. This is such a pretty watch 😍

Congrats on your purchase, looks totally legit to me. The reference number of the watch is 591.0103 and the serial number of the movement is 44,391,283, giving an approximate production date of 1980. Enjoy your watch.

I think it is a cute little watch. Women's watches generally less collected and it from period that is also considered less collectible. Nothing wrong with the watch, but that is why you probably why you can't find much info on it.

Pretty watch with an interesting case shape. Love these 80s ladies Omega, they offer great value in my opinion. I have bought similar for my other half and she loves it

I’d be interested to know how much this watch would have cost new. Just for fun. In May 1979 I had just started work, I was 16 and my weekly pay packet was £29.44! So for me this watch is already sentimental.

Looks like the gold plate version was 165 GBP in 1981 according to this catalog:

I found mine on Vestiare collective. The seller is in Paris. I have just received the strap i was waiting for from the swiss watch shop in ebay in Poland! The strap has transformed my watch back to it’s original look.
