My first Carrera Heuer Valjoux 72. What to do about the case?

A working V72 for $500? In a complete, original watch? And a Heuer? Amazing acquisition!

I like the replating idea, if you can get that done.

I have numerous V72s and my watchmaker services for $250-300. This seems a bargain but what I have been paying for years.

I'm not sure what happened but the replateit person has never replied to my email that had a few questions and I've since sent two emails to follow up and no reply. The watch is already undergoing servicing.... I guess the plating will remain the way it is for awhile. I'll just clean it up as best as I can and my total for the whole watch after service will be $800.

I understand that in order to replate it, watch has to be deplated first. not sure if this involves polishing or just different baths. maybe others here know better how this process works

Thanks all! I'm eyeing a nice Italian leather navy rally strap for it to match the deci dial! Would've loved to have it replated but it's been over two weeks since I've sent the emails and no response so yea I'd be hesitant to send it in even if they did reply now.

Also, I'm in contact with someone who MAY be able to supply a chapter ring for it.
