    Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this form and would love your help and input. I'm thinking about buying my first automatic watch (i.e. Seamaster Diver 300M 2252.50) but know little about automatics.

    1. What are your thoughts/experiences with 1120 movement?

    2. If I wear the watch 8-9 hours a day, 5 days a week while at work, is that sufficient time to keep it running?

    Thanks!
    Jason

1120 is just about bulletproof, and that should be enough to keep it wound as long as you're moving around a bit during that time.

As noted the 1120 is a good movement - I service tons of them and it's rare that they have serious issues.

Power reserve is stated at 48 hours, but often they go more so 50 or 52 hours is not uncommon. If you take it off Friday evening, it won't still be running Monday morning.

    Cheers, Al

Of all the 3 hand movements that preceded the caliber 8500 in Omega's line since 1972, I'd take an 1120 over all the others. It's based on the reliable and accurate ETA 2892-A2 with several modifications.
