You’re not likely to find the correct factory bezel, and if one did pop up, the competition would be fierce. Your best bet is to go by the demensions around the crystal and try to find a generic bezel from another watch (perhaps another 60’s skindiver) that uses a tension wire to hold in place and hope it fits and stays in place.
Until there is someone who dares to make a reproduction bezel for these- we are SOL since Omega clearly doesn’t care.
Hi JwRosenthal, got you. Thank you so much for your advise.

I bought a random bezel off a 70's watch on Ebay for mine until I track a correct bezel down like JwRosenthal suggested.

From the listing here are the dimensions, it snapped right on with the use of a press (it had the spring on the back).

Size : 37,01mm diameter - 31,21mm inside - 33,16mm case connection
Thickness : 3,39mm.

Works well for me 😀

Can we see the donor watch with the bezel and the temporary solution?

Hi wcm82, thank you so much for your info. It helps me a lot. I would like to see that watch as well.

I never saw the complete watch I am afraid - only the bezel was offered on ebay. The seller listed the dimensions so and they matched close enough to what I took with a micrometer so I took a chance. Looks like ebay no longer has the listing viewable or I would pull the photo. I didn't have much luck even finding a substitute until I started searching for "Skin Diver" as that is what they were called in the 60's and 70's.

Here is the photo I took a few days back when I posted it in the thread, she's plenty beat-up but its become my daily driver none the less 😀

Nicely done. Although not factory, it works and is better than having to put it away until you find a bezel- which as we have seen is close to never.

It is real cool. Hope I can find such bezel soon. Thank you again.

Ok, this one ended so we can talk about it now. This particular SM120 would have been a pass (due to the heavy case polishing) for many of us who got ours when they were “cheaper”, and I guess it shows how the market has changed over the last year or two.

No movement pics, no bracelet, and it still went for this much. Not to mention the seller said it has a chronometer grade movement- which it does not.

55 bidders felt this was worth pursuing. I’m wondering if the winner is among us 😗

Was watching that one. The bidding and end price are pretty nuts. Looks like the case was run through a rock tumbler.

So we have blatantly fake (and seller described) 120’s going for $800+ and that piece of shit for $2.3k (although the dial and bezel are nice). And everyone thought @Shabbaz was nuts last year when he was saying a solid 120 was worth $2k 🤨::rimshot::

I must admit I'm a visionair.... 😁

Although the case is shot I do like that dial and bezel. And finding a good 120 under 2k is getting more and more difficult. Maybe it's me but I have the feeling there's a big price increase in vintage watches since the last couple of years and especially since the corona outbreak.

Nearly 80,000 views later, I’m glad I held onto most of my 120’s.😀

Seriously though - thank you for starting the thread, it's been invaluable to so many folks like myself. I would have been lost without all the info from all you fine folks. It's made me want to expand my vintage watch collection lol

One of these sold on hodinkee at 2700 in a milisecond.

Link for reference - https://shop.hodinkee.com/collectio...ts/omega-seamaster-121?variant=32923238301771
I wouldn’t have bought that one even if it were half the price- lume on the hands is moldy, bezel is beyond my taste for “ghost” and the missing pip just looks sad.
And @Shabbaz - you sold yours for what they were worth at the time....nobody knew these things were going to take off like this.

It's missing something...😁

I think I've sold mine a bit cheap!

Yup and lume on hands looks bad and missing some on minute hand. Also, no bracelet which makes the whole thing seem really expensive (even for a high end dealer).

Honestly, think the skin diver market is kind of exploding (not just the seamaster 120). Think people are liking the smaller sizes on these right now and things like Helbros, etc. are also really moving up in price on the bay.
