My Daily Speedmaster, 4 years later

Worn every single day. Beaten and battered. I love it. The only care I take of it is to occasionally polish the Hesalite with some polywatch. You can see from my pictures it’s got a few scars over the years

I can’t wait to see how it looks in another 4 years, in another 10 years, maybe 40 years...

Amazing to think of all the places we’ve been together. All the things we’ve done together. All the places we will go in the future

Have it properly serviced every 5-7 years and the next generation will still be wearing it long after you’re gone. That’s the beauty of a well made mechanical watch.

Once you get over the fact that your new pride and joy is there to do a job, the scratches, dinks and the occasional dent, are easier to deal with. Love the fact that your speedy is your daily wrist wear.

Thank you

I always think that things are there to be used. All the scars are memories. They show that it’s mine.

Brilliant- I love seeing another used Omega.

the only regret with mine is having it polished once, when I wasn’t as knowledgeable. Seemed a great idea at the time. But I guess that’s another ‘memory/scar’

Wow!!! You're certainly getting some use out of it. I don't know if I use mine like that, but if you're happy then keep on doing it.
Looking forward to seeing it in four years time!!!

Awesome! We should all have 1 watch that we wear in this way, treat it as a tool watch. Unfortunately my speedy is a 145.022-69 so I use my Tudor Black Bay Black in this manner. I've had it for almost 4 years and love that it's aging honestly.

Keep wearing in good health!

Few watches seem to age as gracefully as a Speedy Pro. Nice to see such a well-worn (and well-loved) example. Mine is still a young 'un, but I expect it will see its fair share of scars, if my Pelagos is any guide.

Love seeing this, I intend on keeping aesthetic maintenance on mine to "occasional polywatch" as well!

Will post my 5 years without even a polywatch when I get home from work (which @vbrad26 cringes at every time)

edit: here it is 5 years no polywatch

This ia a really fun post. Well done!

I don't want to restart any fires but do you take your speedy swimming?

I bought my first Omega in April and love it...the more I see of well-loved Speedys, the more I think I need one of them as well. Beautiful watch.

Every. Single. Time.

It's not that I baby my Speedy, but I can't stand looking at a scratch on it hah.
I was putting up xmas lights over the weekend and somehow ended up with a scratch from the middle of the hand stack all the way out to the end of the crystal at the 5 o'clock indicator.
I couldn't even finish the task at hand knowing it was there!
Maybe it's OCD? How much Polywatch is TOO MUCH Polywatch?

To get every cent back that we spend on our watches.

I love to see tool watches actually getting worn. In my humble opinion yes they do cost a lot of money, however, if you plan on passing them down to future generations why not wear it and let those people see how much you loved and wore that watch. Worst case they can have it polished out and start with a blank slate.

I don’t really see my Speedmaster as a “nice watch.” For me it’s my every day watch (and only watch, actually)

If I wore it exclusively as a dress watch, I’d try to keep it looking new and shiny. But this isn’t why I personally bought my Speedmaster
